Elevated Water Storage Tank

DFW International Airport

Despite the ice storm of late 2013, we were able to expedite and compress the project’s already tight work schedule, enabling us to complete the critical concrete foundation pour on time. We are very proud to have performed some serious excavation, preparation and execution of the concrete foundation of the water tank in a span of one month, in the middle of winter when conditions were wet and icy.

The most difficult aspect was the concrete pour itself, which involved pouring 800 cubic yards over a period of 12 straight hours – starting late in the evening through to the next morning – and involved 80+ concrete delivery trucks and 35+ field guys on-site at its peak. It was no small feat for us, despite the experience of our crews. At the end of the day the airport was very happy with our work, and a happy client is a good client.
